Texas CPR Training, LLC
Serving Dallas, Texas and surrounding areas!
CHILDREN ARE THE WORLD’S MOST PRECIOUS
ASSET AND CARING FOR THEM IS BOTH A PLEASURE AND
A TREMENDOUS RESPONSIBILITY. THOSE INVOLVED IN
CHILD CARE WHO HAVE A DUTY TO RESPOND TO A FIRST
AID EMERGENCY BECAUSE OF JOB OR REGULATORY
REQUIREMENTS, UNDERSTAND THAT RESPONSIBILITY
FIRST-HAND.

Often, individuals employed in
the child care industry, such as day care
workers, aides, and others, are required to take
training courses in child care basics, pediatric
first aid, and CPR. First aid and CPR training
also may be required or recommended for
teachers, foster care
workers, camp counselors, coaches for children’s
sports organizations, and others whose jobs
involve the care of children and the duty to
respond to an emergency.
Whatever the job, the American Heart Association
is dedicated to ensuring that those caring for
children are armed not only with the best first
aid and CPR training available, but also with
the confidence to act in an emergency involving
a child or infant. The American Heart
Association’s new Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid
Course contains information on how to manage
illness and injuries in a child during the first
few minutes until professional help arrives.
Specifically designed to meet regulatory
requirements for child care workers throughout
the U.S., this course offers the ideal pediatric
first aid training solution for the child care
industry and others requiring a credential in
pediatric first aid.
Why American Heart Association?
WE’RE A SINGLE-SOURCE SOLUTION FOR ALL PEDIATRIC
TRAINING NEEDS!
With the addition of this new course, the
American Heart Association provides a one-stop
shop for childcare providers’ training needs in
CPR, AED use, and pediatric first aid. Child
care professionals no longer have to seek
pediatric first aid training through another
organization — they can stick with the training
source they prefer and trust.
WE BUILT THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE, FLEXIBLE
TRAINING SOLUTION!
Regulations for pediatric first aid are not
nationalized and are very different from one
state to another. Some states require very basic
first aid training, while others require many
hours of training in many topics that can be
considered outside the range of first aid
training.
The American Heart Association believed it
critical to develop a course that could be
taught in all 50 states. So, throughout the
development of this course, we conducted
thorough research in each state to identify and
confirm state regulations for child care.
This research involved several initial steps:
*Determining the regulatory body for child care
in each state
*Finding out what topics were required by the
regulations
*Determining staffing requirements (how many
people needed to be trained per facility,
what job titles needed to receive training, etc.
*Searching state regulations to determine if the
American Heart Association is listed as
a first aid provider in each state
*Obtaining written approval of the Heartsaver
Pediatric First Aid Course from each state
Following several months of comprehensive
follow-up with states
and with the help of many state regulatory
bodies, the American
Heart Association was able to design a course
with each state’s
individual needs in mind.
ADVANCED EDUCATIONAL METHODS =
HIGHEST QUALITY TRAINING!
The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Course was
developed using the most current
resuscitation and first aid science from the
official 2005 American Heart Association
Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular
Care. These Guidelines are the standard CPR and
emergency care guidelines.
The new course incorporates the AHA’s
research-proven Practice-While-Watching
(PWW) method of instruction for CPR. This method
has been shown to improve student
learning and retention by increasing hands-on
CPR practice time. Studies have shown that,
using this method, students leave courses
knowing the core skills of CPR and feeling
confident they can use these skills.
